Q: What is Hyaluronic Acid (HA)?

A: Hyaluronic Acid is our own natural moisturiser and is an important substance that makes up the healthy and youthful looking appearance of our skin. Unfortunately, HA diminishes over time, the good news is the signs of ageing can be reduced by replacing the lost HA to hydrate and plump up the tissue in the skin.

Q: How long does the treatment take?

A: Following the detailed consultation with your nurse and when you are happy to proceed, the treatment typically would take about 30min. Your skin is cleaned and sanitised with antiseptic solution and we would take a photo before we start the treatment. During the session, the filler is injected into the specific area using a fine needle or cannula.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: All fillers now come with anaesthetic, which helps to reduce any sensation of pain. Also, modern fillers are designed to integrate into your own skin tissues without disruption to the tissue.

Q: How will the area feel after the treatment?

A: You are unlikely to feel any difference in the area treated, compared to untreated areas. You may experience slight numbness for 30-60mins after the treatment.

Q: How soon can I return to normal activities?

A: You may experience slight swelling or redness after the injections, but this will subside soon after the treatment. You can return to your daily routine immediately.

Q: How long does it last?

A: This will depend on the individual and the area being treated. Most clients come for a follow-up treatment 6-12 months to maintain the appearance.

Q: Are there any side effects?

A: Hyaluronic Acid is a natural component of the skin and therefore less likely to cause an allergic reaction. There are however some injection-related reactions, which may occur. These include slight redness, localised swelling, itching and bruising. These reactions are completely normal, generally very mild and usually disappear shortly after your treatment ( 1-2 days).

Call any of our clinics if you have any further questions!

Nicola

“My motto is no injections and no knives, so I chose Ultherapy, which is an ultrasound with a higher frequency that is applied to the face. It makes your body produce its own collagen to the level it would have done naturally when you were in your 20s. I get it done in Renew Clinic, and I like that it’s non-invasive and natural, and one session lasts for almost two years .

micro peel vs microdermabrasion
do you really know the difference?

Words by Tanya Grimson
February 28th, 2017

There is always a lot of talk surrounding skin peels and microdermabrasion when it comes to beauty but there is also a degree of confusion in regards to what both treatments actually entail. This is accompanied by trepidation and fear stemming from the word ‘peel’, as flashbacks of Samantha in Sex and the City with her burning skin come to the fore of your mind. Does beauty really come at such a price? With that in mind, we figured the only way to find out the real truth behind the processes was to try them out for ourselves and see if these processes are something we should approach with caution or if they have been harshly judged without real substance. And of course, what really is the difference between the peel and microdermabrasion?
Not wanting to opt for any beauty boutique, we decided to work with Renew Clinic due to the calming fact that the founders and technicians are registered medical nurses who know what they are doing. Note of advice, never ever proceed with an unregistered practitioner without medical expertise, even if they have a good deal on, as this could ultimately result in your loss as you rectify whatever damage may have been done to your skin. So, myself and maven46 co-founder, Agata (who I have to admit was little braver than me) decided to test both treatments and compare the processes and results so you too can have a real life experience of the truths, the myths and the reality.
