Dr. Susana Fontana

Dr. Susana was born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela.
From 2004 to 2011 she studied to obtain her medical degree at University of Zulia, Venezuela. These were years of hard work, challenges and constant learning.
After graduating. Dr. Susana moved with her husband to Barcelona, Spain in 2012, to begin an incipient adventure as students. She enrolled in a 4 year specialist training as a General Practitioner, during which time she discovered her passion for Aesthetic Medicine. Consequently, she completed two years of specialized studies at the University of Barcelona, Spain.
While developing as a professional, Dr. Susana realized she could offer her patients a holistic view of their health; therefore she additionally obtained a degree in Human Nutrition after another 2 years at University of Barcelona. Furthermore, in 2017 she obtained her Diploma in Dermatology with the Catalan Society of Family and Community Medicine.
As General Practitioner, Dr. Susana guides her patients in all phases of their life, with empathy, listening, and acting when it's necessary, She likes to collaborate as a team, with equally highly motivated and skilled colleges.
When she finished her 4 years of training as a GP, the teaching committee proposed she continue working as a General Practitioner at the same Primary Care Center where she had trained. It was a great opportunity to grow as a professional, collaborating as a team with the same colleagues that had been her mentors. The position also meant dealing with a high influx of patients with diverse backgrounds and complexity on a daily basis.
Dr. Susana had the opportunity to be Chair of Dermatology in the Catalan Society of Family Medicine from 2018 to 2021. She spent this time doing research, being a speaker in different dermatology congresses for General Practitioners, and to other GPs with a keen interest in skin diseases.
She was a reference consultant in the Primary Care Center doing mole mapping, cryotherapy, biopsies and even minor surgeries.
As an Aesthetic Physician her goal is to achieve excellence through all stages of treatment, applying the latest techniques to accomplish better results for her patients.
Dr. Susana practiced as an Aesthetic Physician for 4 years in the Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Clinic in Barcelona, Spain. It was a chance to learn and work with two great plastic surgeons. There, she performed treatments such as fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, chemical peels, Platelet-opulent plasma (PRP), mesotherapy facial and skin boosters.
After 4 years working in Spain as a GP and as an Aesthetic Physician, having grown professionally and also personally thanks to the birth of their daughter, Dr. Susana and her husband decided to move to Ireland, attracted by the beauty of the country, Its amazing culture and the opportunities to grow as a profesional.
Dr Susana can’t be more Excited for this new chapter in her life, with a new challenge ahead and joining a great team of professionals in aesthetic medicine will give her the opportunity to keep growing professionally in a leading clinic, using the latest techniques in aesthetic, dermatology and all her knowledge for excellent results for her patients.
Dr Susana enjoy to spend time with her family, cooking delicious dishes with a love for a multicultural cuisine and always planing new adventures to visit new places with her husband and daughter spending quality time traveling around the world learning new cultures and enjoying new places.
