What is Coolsculpting
Coolsculpting is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure designed to reduce stubborn fat pockets in various areas of the body. It is a fat-freezing technique that helps contour and sculpt the body without the need for surgery.
How it Works
Coolsculpting works based on the principle of cryolipolysis, which involves targeting and freezing fat cells to the point of destruction, without harming the surrounding tissues. The procedure uses controlled cooling technology to lower the temperature of the targeted area, causing the fat cells to crystallize and eventually undergo natural cell death. Over time, the body eliminates these dead fat cells through its natural metabolic processes. Our fat cells are developed in our teenage years. If we gain weight, we don’t gain more fat cells instead the fat cells we have get bigger or smaller as we lose weight. Coolsculpt kills off fat cells leaving us with less fat cells in the treated area so therefore we achieve a reduction in bulk in the areas we find it hard to shift excess weight from.
During the treatment, an applicator is placed on the specific area of concern, such as the abdomen, thighs, flanks, or submental . The applicator delivers precise cooling to the targeted fat cells, effectively freezing them. The procedure is generally well-tolerated, and patients may experience a cold sensation and mild suction during the treatment. CoolSculpting does not require anesthesia, incisions, or downtime, making it a convenient option for individuals seeking fat reduction.
What it Treats
Coolsculpting is primarily used to target and treat stubborn areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. It is most commonly used to address the following areas:
Abdomen: Coolsculpting can reduce excess fat in the abdominal area, helping to achieve a flatter and more defined stomach.
Thighs: It can target and reduce fat on the inner and outer thighs, improving thigh contour and reducing the appearance of bulges.
Flanks (love handles): Coolsculpting can address stubborn fat on the sides of the waist, commonly known as love handles, resulting in a more streamlined silhouette.
Submental: The procedure can effectively reduce submental fat, commonly referred to as a double chin, providing a more defined jawline and facial profile.
Arms: Coolsculpting can help reduce excess fat in the upper arms, achieving a slimmer and more toned appearance.
