What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

How it Works
The injections smooth lines and wrinkles and works effectively on many parts of the face and neck. They use a protein which is derived from the bacterium clostridium botulinum. It is used in many fields of medicine for a wide variety of reasons and is a very safe well researched drug. In aesthetic medicine it is most commonly used to soften muscle activity which is responsible for the formation of lines and wrinkles on the surface of the skin. It does this by blocking the release of the chemical messenger which transmits the impulse from the nerve to the muscle.
What it Treats
Anti wrinkle injections are commonly used to treat forehead lines, frown lines, and lateral canthal lines or crow’s feet. They can also be used to elevate the eyebrows, as well as treat undereye lines and lines on the nose commonly referred to as bunny lines, where appropriate. In the lower face, they can be used to treat smokers lines around the mouth, down turning of the corners of the mouth, and dimpling of the chin. They can also be used to slim the lower face, to treat prominent bands of the neck and to reduce the amount of gum showing in patients with a “gummy smile”. Anti-wrinkle treatments are also widely used to treat excessive sweating from the armpits, hands and feet as well as scalp and face.
