What is PRP Facial Rejuvenation
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment involves using a concentrated solution of a patient’s own platelets to stimulate tissue healing and regeneration to treat ageing skin, fine lines and dull skin.
How it Works
The PRP Facial Rejuvenation procedure begins with drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood. The blood is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other components. The resulting PRP contains a higher concentration of growth factors, proteins, and platelets that are beneficial for tissue regeneration.
Next, the PRP is injected back into specific areas of the face. The growth factors and platelets in the PRP stimulate collagen production, enhance blood flow, and promote tissue repair and rejuvenation. This leads to improved skin texture, increased volume, and a more youthful appearance.
What it Treats
PRP is used to address various cosmetic concerns including:
Fine Lines and Wrinkles: PRP promotes collagen production and tissue regeneration leading to a reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Skin Laxity: As well as collagen production, elastin production is also stimulated by PRP, thereby enhancing skin’s firmness, tightness, and overall texture.
Scarring: PRP promotes the body’s natural healing processes. The concentrated growth factors and proteins within the plasma help stimulate collagen production, improve blood circulation, and encourage tissue regeneration, leading to the gradual reduction in the appearance of scars and improved skin texture.
Undereye Area: PRPs regenerative properties will promote collagen and elastin production, increase blood flow and enhance tissue repair leading to a reduction in the appearance of dark circles, fine lines, and puffiness, resulting in a more refreshed and youthful under-eye appearance.
Contraindications: If you’re in good general health there are unlikely to be any contra indications but you must inform your specialist if you are taking any medication, blood thinning (anti-coagulant) medication, undergoing steroidal or any other long term therapies.
